SAMSCS Marks Founding Anniversary Day 2 with Laro ng Lahi and Vibrant United Nations Celebration

The second day of the St. Alexander M. Sauli Catholic School’s Founding Anniversary kicked off with much excitement and pride, continuing the celebrations with events that showcased both cultural heritage and global awareness.

The morning festivities began with Laro ng Lahi, a traditional Filipino games event that brought students, teachers, and parents together to celebrate the rich cultural heritage of the Philippines. The school buzzed with energy as participants eagerly took part in games such as patintero, tinupak bola, agawan base, chinese garter, jack-n-poy, and piko. These activities not only brought fun and excitement but also instilled the importance of valuing Filipino traditions. The sense of camaraderie was evident, as the games encouraged teamwork, sportsmanship, and friendly competition. The event was a delightful reminder of the joy and spirit that traditional Filipino culture brings to any celebration.

In the afternoon, the celebrations transitioned to an international theme with the United Nations Month Celebration. Students dressed in colorful costumes representing various countries, showcasing the diversity of cultures from around the world. Each category (Preschool, Primary, and Intermediate and Junior High School) had prepared Song of Nations presentation, that highlighted unity of different nations.

The event aimed to promote global awareness and foster a sense of unity and respect for cultural diversity. As students proudly displayed the national costumes of the nations they represented, the school community was reminded of the importance of global cooperation and peace. The United Nations Month Celebration served as a meaningful conclusion to the day’s events, reinforcing the school’s commitment to cultivating a well-rounded education that celebrates both national identity and international understanding.

Overall, Day 2 of the St. Alexander M. Sauli Catholic School Founding Anniversary was a blend of traditional and global festivities, providing students with opportunities to appreciate their cultural roots while also embracing the wider world.
